Our Brews

We have developed a wide range of year round and seasonal ales - we are certain one of our quality award winning ales will satisfy your real ale taste.

Stout Ollie, was crowned Champion Specialty Beer at a Campaign for Real Ale dinner at the Middle Ruddings Hotel, in Braithwaite, near Keswick. Stout Ollie now goes forward to the CAMRA regional heat...it even has a chance of becoming the Champion Beer of Britain 2009!

Stout Ollie - CHAMPION SPECIALITY BEER 2009 A.B.V. 4.3% A black beer full of dark roasted aroma with flavours of bitter dark chocolate and coffee. Easy to drink Pale, Crystal, Chocolate, Roasted Barley, Flaked Barley, Torrified Wheat, Vanilla Pod.

Equally as pleasing was Flying Elephants winning first place on our home soil in the Ulverston Beer Festival 2008. Coming in at joint third place at the same event was our Christmas favorite, strong winter warmer beer, Bad Medicine. This beer was very popular last year and we have had plenty of demand for it to be brought back for this Christmas. It is the kind of beer that is sure to keep you warm during the coldest winter night.

Another recent  seasonal brew was 'What The Dickens' which was specially prepared for the Ulverston Dickensian Festival where we had our own very successful stall.

Bad Medicine - A.B.V. 6.3% This is a surprisingly light winter warm beer. No doubt it is strong but very easy to drink and guaranteed to keep your toes (any everything else) warm.

Laughing Gravy - A.B.V. 4.0% This is a light copper beer with a balance between malt and hops, leaving a thirst quenching after taste. Pale malt, Crystal, Amber, Chocolate, Torrified wheat, Amarillo and Golding hops

Another Fine Mess - A.B.V. 4.0% A pale full bodied beer with a sweet hoppy aroma. Fruitness balanced with juicy malts leads to a moreish after taste. Pale malt, Crystal Maize and Barley. Styrian Goldings & Cascade hops.

Lonesome Pine - A.B.V. 4.2% A pale honey beer with sweet malts, followed by tangy citrus fruits. Refreshing all year round. Pale malt, Cara and Torrified wheat, Pure honey, Styrian Goldings and Amarillo hops.
