Established early in 2006 by Paul Swann and Anita Garnett, Ulverston Brewing Company has very quickly gained recognition at local and national level for it's excellent and inspired range of award winning real ales
Set up on the outskirts of Ulverston, in a building that once housed the winding gear for the Lindal Moor Mining Company. The original inspiration was the closure Hartley's Brewery in the town. A replacement was needed for the excellent local brew - Hartleys XB. The plant equipment originated from Whitley Bridge Brewery and now produces a wide range of beers appealing to all palates.
Most of the brews are named as a tribute to Ulverston's famous son, Stan Laurel, capturing memorable clips from Laurel & Hardy films.
The brewery Pump clips proudly show the official logo of the town of Ulverston and the brewery has even appeared on the BBC news page website - Click here for details.
